Writing Down the Wild
Nature Writers Workshop

Changing Paths:
Travels and Meditations in Alaska's Arctic Wilderness

Labor Day Weekend
August 31-September 3

Through readings, writing exercises, discussions, and quiet time spent in the company of nature (all of which are elements of the nature writer's life), participants will discover -- or perhaps in some instances, relearn -- the ways that "writing down the wild" can lead to an increased intimacy with the larger, wilder world we inhabit. Also, learn to tap into a deeper connection to the wildness we carry within us. "Nature Writing" can lead to an increased sense of the oneness and sacredness inherent in our world and the larger universe of which we're a part -- what some would call creation.

Participants can look forward to spending plenty of peaceful time in nature. Enjoy access to ocean kayaking, easy to moderate hiking to nearby Grewingk Glacier in Kachemak Bay State Park with berry picking and wildflowers, plus guided tidepooling. Explore and learn about the local land- and seascape.
